Learn how to macramé (16-25)

Face to Face Discovery College Courses (for 16-25 year olds)

Coming Soon

The resurgence of a vintage craft ‘macrame’ is on trend and we will show you how to make a keepsake key ring using this age-old tradition.

You are invited to bring along a small item, personal to you to place in the pocket of the key ring, alternatively you can use one of our coloured stones, provided by the Discovery College.

Macramé can help with mental clarity, stress release, improve fine motor skills, reduce anxiety, and build confidence.

It is also a chance to connect with others in a safe and supportive environment.

Why not check out our other crafting sessions running in the Discovery College. Book your place by clicking the links below…

Please note that some of the materials used in these sessions may not be able to be taken on to ward environments.

Please ensure you let the College know at the time of booking if you have any dexterity issues or other concerns around using smaller pieces of equipment. Our crafting sessions often use equipment that may be more challenging to use with dexterity issues (such as pencils, pastels, sewing equipment or paintbrushes) and if informed in advance, we are able to make our sessions fully accessible for those with additional crafting support needs.

How do I enrol?

You are not referred to the Recovery College, you can simply enrol yourself, or on behalf of someone, for any of our courses that may be of interest to you. Our courses are open to all adults and we welcome carers, supporters and professionals too.
